Known for its hot and sunny summers, the Atlanta area is the perfect place to plant native species to dress up your commercial landscaping. Native plants are fully adapted to the local climate and many thrive in full sun.  If you have a lot of sunny spots in your landscape, these native plants are perfect for your commercial landscaping project:

  • Narrowleaf Evening Primrose: This 18-24 inch perennial spreads rapidly under good conditions but isn’t known to be aggressive. It loves the sun and boasts yellow four-petaled flowers about 2 inches in diameter.
  • Spotted Beebalm: This plant can range in height from 6 inches to 3 feet tall. The yellow and purple tubular flowers occur in whorls and appear spiky among the leaf bracts.
  • Butterfly Milkweed: If you’re hoping to infuse vibrant colors in your landscaping design, this is the plant for you. The bright orange flowers range in diameter from 2 – 5 inches and thrive in full sun. The deep green leaves are the perfect backdrop for the beautiful flowers.
