Customers and passers-by won’t be laughing when you add a Ha-Ha feature to your business landscape. All who see it will be giving cries of delight.
An article on Houzz explains some of the older uses of the Ha-Ha and some modern day variations:
In the 18th century, English gentry found that a sunken ditch with a sloping side and a brick or stone wall protected estates from roaming animals. A fence might also be concealed at the bottom. This design offered security and allowed an unobstructed view of their gardens. The layout was said to be so pleasing that people seeing such landscaping for the first time would utter a “ha-ha” of surprise.
Some modern variations that will show off your success and professionalism:
- Lovely rock retaining wall (steel may be used and is cost effective)
- Stone wall with steps down to lower level
- Reflecting pool
- Rustic Fencing
- Steel Fencing in a serpentine shape (or semitransparent material in the same shape)
